Adobe, maker of Flash and PDF products, announce that it would be abandon its Flash line of products in favor for HTML5.  For over a decade Flash has been the standard online for streaming media such as video, music, and photos, so this announcement is a big deal.  So much so that other companies even developed similar technologies to take the standard away, such as Microsoft’s Silverlight and Real Networks’ Real Player.  If the 500 pound gorilla in the room is dead, it makes me think that these similar technologies are long gone as well.
